How It Works

Order fuel from your phone and a Gas Me Up driver will come to your vehicle. Below is the end-to-end flow so you know exactly what to expect.

Service area: Our service location is currently limited to Pittsburgh and surrounding neighborhoods, with expansion coming soon.
1

Turn on Push Notifications

Push notifications keep you updated on your driver’s status (assigned, en route, arrived, completed). They’re the fastest way to get real-time updates.

  • Enable in the app: AccountNotifications & Location
  • Recommended: allow notifications so you don’t miss arrival/completion updates
2

Add Your Vehicle (up to 3)

Add vehicle details, confirm they’re correct, and press Save. You can store up to three vehicles and choose the one you want refueled each time.

  • Double-check vehicle info so the driver refuels the correct car
  • You can update or replace vehicles later as needed
3

Enter Your Service Location & Start a New Refill

Enter the location where your vehicle is parked, then select New Refill. Provide any helpful notes (parking lot, space number, building entrance, etc.).

Parking details Gate codes (if any) Landmarks
4

Select the Vehicle You Want Refueled

Choose one of your saved vehicles to make sure the correct vehicle is serviced at the location you entered.

  • If multiple vehicles are nearby, selecting the right one prevents confusion
  • Make sure the vehicle is present at the service location during your refill
5

Driver Assigned & Dispatched

A Gas Me Up driver will be assigned and dispatched to your location. You’ll receive updates through push notifications as your order progresses.

  • Stay available in case the driver needs clarification
  • Ensure the vehicle remains accessible until the refill is complete
6

Make the Gas Cap Accessible

Before the driver arrives, make sure your gas cap is ajar and the fuel door area is accessible. This helps the driver complete your refill quickly.

  • Unlock the fuel door if your vehicle requires it
  • Clear any items blocking access to the fuel door
7

Refuel Completed & Gas Cap Secured

After refueling is complete, your driver will secure your gas cap (and close the fuel door when applicable).

  • Your vehicle is left in a safe, ready-to-drive state
8

Optional: Subscriber Tire Refill Add-On

If you’re a subscriber and opted into tire refills, the driver will check and add air as needed to reach approximately 33 PSI (or equivalent measurement).

  • Performed only when the add-on is enabled for your account
  • Targets a typical safe PSI range (may vary by vehicle and tire specs)
9

Final Payment Processed

Your final payment is processed after service is completed. For subscribers, the final charge will include only the cost of the gas (service fee waived).

  • Make sure your payment method on file is current
  • You’ll see the finalized amount reflected on your receipt
10

Completion Notification & Digital Receipt

You’ll be notified when fueling is complete and receive a digital receipt for your records.

  • Receipt includes service completion confirmation and charges
  • Keep receipts for reimbursement or tracking fuel spend
